2/D - 3/D ART 2/28-3/4

2D students will turn in late insect sketch assignment if they missed the deadline of last week. We will transfer images onto watercolor paper and begin a wash color study.

3D students will transition from carving to sanding and grinding surfaces on wooden pieces.

Wearable Art 2/28-3/4

Monday afternoon the class will travel to Pittsburg to take down the Art Exhibit. Tuesday demonstration over cuttlebone casting. Altered book for casting designs due on Thurs. Micro mosaic pieces will be due at the end of the week.

ART 1 2/28 - 3/4

Students continue to rotate through clay projects, 5 new students on the potters wheel. coil and pinch pot work.
no sketchbook this week.

2/D - 3/D ART 2/21- 2/25

2D students will finish up still life painting this week.
Sketchbook assignment of a detail drawing of an insect of their choice, due Thursday.

3D students continue carving. Grade for carving will be given on Wed.
Sketchbook assignment critique from a wood carved piece.

Art Reception this Thursday at Memorial Auditorium 6-8 p.m.!!!!!!!!!

Wearable Art 2/21- 2/25

Polymer micro mosaic projects are due at the end of the week.
Altered book assignment - Critique page selected from www.velvetdavinci.com due on Friday.

ART 1 2/21 - 2/25

students will be continuing to work on the current clay assignments which include pinch pots, coil constructions, and potter's wheel.
Sketchbook assignment - draw yourself as a creature and include a paragraph of explanation. Due on Thurs.

This Thursday evening is the reception for our exhibit at Memorial Auditorium. Students will receive extra credit if they bring a guest to the reception from 6-8 p.m.

2/D - 3/D ART 2/14 - 2/18

2D students are finishing up still life painting, Mon - Wed. Thurs. - Fri we will discuss non-objective work and begin project designs, sketchbook assignment of non-objective doodling.

3D students continue the labor intensive project of wood carving..... continue into next week.

Wearable Art 2/14 - 2/18

Students will continue brainstorming for our next TRADE Party, which will be the first week of March. Design work on micro-mosaics with polymer clay, and construction of bezels this week.
Altered book assignment will include Pocket design ideas.

ART 1 2/14- 2/18

- 5 students have 3 days left on potters wheel, then 5 new students begin rotation on Thursday, in all Art I classes.
1st and 3rd hours - working on pinch pots, by the end of the week, they will be ready to dry out completely.
4th and 5th hours - working on coil building, this week and next week.
sketchbook assignment - students will be given a list of ceramic artists, they will pick one and write a short report over that artist in their sketchbook for this week, assignments due on Thursday, Feb 17th.
