2/D - 3/D ART 1/31-2/4

2-D --- students are continuing to paint a still life in class. All students are required to prepare a piece for the memorial auditorium exhibit. 20 pts. for matting a drawing this week.

3-D --- students have begun wood carving. they will be given 3 weeks to complete this carving beginning 1/31.

Wearable Art 1/31 - 2/4

Wearable students are continuing to work in polymer clay, with a focus this week on micro-mosaics. Tuesday this class will travel to Pittsburg to install our exhibit at Pittsburg Memorial Auditorium. Students will be preparing work for display this week.

ART 1 1/31 - 2/4

Art I students will be starting new clay projects this week. 5 students from each period will begin working on the potter's wheel. They are assigned 5 periods to work, if they miss a class, it is their responsibility to make up the time OUTSIDE of class, participation and clean up is how they will earn their points for the potters' wheel. 1st and 3rd hours will begin pinch pot construction on Tuesday. Extra credit will be given for any student who can contribute horse hair for this firing.
4th and 5th hours will begin coil pot construction.


EXTRA CREDIT WILL BE GIVEN TO STUDENTS WHO ATTEND AND BRING AN OUTSIDE GUEST TO OUR PUBLIC RECEPTION AT MEMORIAL AUDITORIUM ON FEB. 10TH FROM 6-8P.M. Please support your son/daughter and try to attend!

ART 1 1/24- 1/28

Art I students are working on clay projects, they will work in class on Monday and Tues after that time, if the project has not reached the point of completion, students will need to come in during ssr/seminar, before or after school or during an Art Club Late Night to finish up. Wednesday will be demonstration day for the potter's wheel. Thursday and Friday work on 2nd clay sculpture project.
No sketchbook this week.

2/D - 3/D ART 1/17-1-21

2D students will be turning in Self-Portrait drawings on Wed. Drawing of new still life will begin Mon. Each student is required to exhibit at least one piece in the Memorial Auditorium Exhibit next month. 2D students will measure and cut one matte for the exhibit. Thursday the Art Room will be open for students to work on this and other projects from 3- 10 p.m.!!!!!!!
3D students are finishing up plaster of paris sculpture carvings. Tues. we will discuss sketches and ideas for our next carving which will be in basswood. Sketchbook due on Tues. Each student is required to exhibit at least one piece in the Memorial Auditorium Exhibit next month. Students need to be planning which piece to send and how to display this piece. Thursday the Art Room will be open for students to work on this and other projects from 3- 10 p.m.!!!!!!!

Wearable Art 1/17-1/21

Wearable students are working on Polymer clay projects. They will be due on Friday the 21st. Each student will make an image transfer onto polymer clay, but are not required to involve this technique in their 100 pt. project.
The art room will be open from 3- 10 p.m. on Thursday to accommodate students with deadlines.

ART I 1/17-1/21

Art I students have begun the clay season! Any student who did not turn in sketchbooks last thursday, have Monday to turn them in late for reduced points. Students were informed of this in class on Friday.
1st and 3rd hours are working on a COIL structure, they will probably work through next week on this assignment. No sketchbook this week.
4th and 5th hours are engaged in traditional PINCH pot technique, after projects have been bisque fired, a choice of pit firing or horse hair firing will be given. EXTRA CREDIT will be awarded any student who brings in stiff horse hair by the end of January.

2/D - 3/D ART 1/10-1/14

2D art - students are working on self-portraits, they are due by Friday of this week. We will begin still life painting this week. Students may need to take home self-portraits in order to turn them in on time.

3D art - students will continue to carve into plaster blocks, projects will be due early next week.

Wearable Art 1/10-1/14

Wearable students are working in polymer clay designs this week. Altered books due midweek, assignment is the design page for polymer clay jewelry piece.

ART 1 1/10-1/14

Notes and demonstrations in CLAY - Clay work will dominate our 3rd week quarter. Quiz this week on the Principles of Design. Sketchbook due on Thursday, 6 pages of the 7 principles of design, worth 90 pts!!!!!!!!!!
