November 10- 14, 2008

ART I

Students will continue to work on self portrait drawings and turn them in on Wed. Sketchbook due on Thurs. Assignment is minimum 3 frame comic strip.

2-D Art

Students are working on self portrait collages. Altered books are due on Monday, theme of color.

Art 3-D/ Wearables

Students are continuing to work in clay and rotating through the potter's wheel, pinch pots, and independent projects. 3 sketches are due by Monday.

3-D/Wearable October 27th - 31st, 2008

Students are working in Clay, 6 at a time will work on the wheel, while the rest of class continues to work on handbuilding.   Pinch pots will need to be scrapped and burnished this week.

2-D ART October 27th - 31st, 2008

2-D art students will be finishing up bas relief project.   They will take a couple of weeks to dry, then we will add coloration.        Students will also turn in Altered book assignment over Texture on Wed. Oct. 29th.

October 27 - 31 2008

ART I --- students will be finishing up on the still life value study on Monday.   We will begin our next drawing which is a self portrait that shows Expression.  Students will have photos taken in class on monday and will then begin the 3 week drawing.
Sketchbook this week is to list 10 descriptive words, and include drawings that relate to 2 of these words.    (2 pages in the sketchbook due on Thursday, Oct. 30)

October 6 - 10

ART I -- Students are finishing up perspective drawing in class, they will be turned in either on Tuesday or Wednesday.  These projects are worth 100 pts!!!!!   We will begin VALUE study this week, with skill exercises and then begin a large drawing next week.  Students should be familiar with notes as a quarter quiz is approaching.   T.B.A.

2-D ART -- Our class has agreed to decorate the windows of Girard National Bank.  This will take every bit of this week working in class and also will require any extra time the students can sacrifice - seminar, before/after school.    Altered books are due on Friday.

3-D ART -- Students are continuing to work on silver bezel epoxy jewelry piece.  We will finish up mid-week, and begin designing the next project.  Jewelry pieces will be graded strongly on craftsmanship and final appearance quality.

Sept. 29 - Oct. 3

ART I -- Students will continue to work on one and two point perspective drawings in class.  Tentative due date for this project is Oct. 8th.
sketchbook assignment - one page drawing showing 3 techniques demonstrating depth perception.  Due on thursday, Oct. 2nd.

2-D ART -- The last day to turn in Still life skull drawing will be Wed. Oct. 1st.  Students will have time in class to work on this until that time.  Also we will begin planning our participation with 'paint the town crimson and gold'  we will spend now until homecoming working on a community service project to help a local bank decorate for the event.
Altered books due Monday Sept. 29

3-D / Wearable ART -- Students will continue to work on filling silver bezels with epoxy resin this week and begin wire working skills to finish project.  Many will be finished by the end of the week. Sketchbook assignment - 3 designs involving carved wood for wearable piece - due on Friday Oct. 2nd

Lesson plans -- Aug. 14th and 15th

3-D / Wearable Art

The first 9 weeks of this course will focus on wearable art. We will discuss the meaning of this concept and brainstorm relevant ideas. Students will begin to plan their first project, which is an "altered" item.
