2/D - 3/D ART 5/22- 5/27
Students will turn in final projects on Monday. Classroom clean up and organization will take place this week along with review for final, which will be given on Friday.

Monday is the last day for Students will turn in glass bead projects. They are worth 100 pts. Mon, Tues, Wed students will participate with classroom organization and cleaning. Final will be on Friday.

Students will turn in landscape paintings on Monday, if they have not done so already. Class participation Mon, Tues and Wed will include reviewing for final and working in the room. Students will earn points for their efforts.

2/D - 3/D ART 5/9 - 5/13
2d students are turning in sketchbook assignment of non-objective designs on Monday. They will work on compositions and enlarging onto built canvas this week.
3d students are using paper mache technique on sculptures and will begin handmade paper making on Monday.

Wearable Art 5/9 - 5/13
Wearable students are scheduled to 20 minute sessions for glass bead making. Within the next 2 weeks, all students will have had 3 sessions. Wire wrapping will be practiced when students are not assigned a torch. Students need to bring an old sheet or t-shirt in white or a light color for stamping and printing next week.
ART I 5/9- 5/13
1st hour ---- this class is working on Pysanky Eggs. We are in need of more farm fresh eggs in white or light colors. The eggs are drawn on, receive wax application, and dyed. We will work on this all week.
3rd, 4th, and 5th hours ---- Students are to bring 3 images of landscapes for this weeks sketchbook assignment. These images may be printed off the net, taken from old magazines or books, or even photographs from family vacation or the backyard. In class we are working on painting skies, and will begin foreground on Tuesday. The landscape paintings will be due by the end of next week.

2D students will continue to build frames and stretch canvas this week.
3D students will use air dry modeling clay to create armature for recycled paper project. Armature will be due by Thursday of this week.
The Pittsburg Art Walk is this Friday, 4-8 p.m. Students are encouraged to attend, they will be exposed to a wide variety of local art work.

Students will begin transferring logo designs.
Glass bead demo video will be viewed on Monday, students will draw for 20 minute time slots, 2 per day for using torches for glass bead making. If a student misses their assigned day, it will be their responsibility to make up the time. Students will also be instructed this week on basic wire wrapping, for the finished glass bead project.

Students are working on pastel application to still life drawing. Most classes will finish this drawing on Tuesday, or Wednesday. We will begin acrylic and colored pencil exercises following pastels. The class exercises will be used this week as sketchbook assignments and will be due on Friday.
Friday from 4-8p.m. is Pittsburg Art Walk, all students who are not involved with the track meet are encouraged to attend - they will be exposed to a wide variety of local art!

2/D - 3/D ART 4/11 - 4/15
2D students are finishing up choice painting. They will begin construction on wooden frames on Tues and will stretch canvas by the end of this week. Paintings will be non-objective in design.
3D students will have until the end of the week to work in clay. After that no more wet clay construction will take place - students will participate in clay recycling.

Wearable students will be turning in Independent project on Wed. Altered book assignment will be to design a personal logo or monogram to be used in silkscreen printing, A. books will be turned in on Wed. as well. We will begin creating vellum stencils this week with logo designs.

Art I students are continuing to draw still life. drawings will be graded on Tues and are worth 25 pts. Tues students will begin color application in the form of pastels to the drawings. This will continue 7 - 10 days. Sketchbook assignment is one item from still life in color, due on Thursday.

Wearable students are continuing to work in polymer clay, with a focus this week on micro-mosaics. Tuesday this class will travel to Pittsburg to install our exhibit at Pittsburg Memorial Auditorium. Students will be preparing work for display this week.

Art I students are working on clay projects, they will work in class on Monday and Tues after that time, if the project has not reached the point of completion, students will need to come in during ssr/seminar, before or after school or during an Art Club Late Night to finish up. Wednesday will be demonstration day for the potter's wheel. Thursday and Friday work on 2nd clay sculpture project.

2D students will be turning in Self-Portrait drawings on Wed. Drawing of new still life will begin Mon. Each student is required to exhibit at least one piece in the Memorial Auditorium Exhibit next month. 2D students will measure and cut one matte for the exhibit. Thursday the Art Room will be open for students to work on this and other projects from 3- 10 p.m.!!!!!!!

Wearable students are working on Polymer clay projects. They will be due on Friday the 21st. Each student will make an image transfer onto polymer clay, but are not required to involve this technique in their 100 pt. project.
